Upon visiting the quarry it was noticed the existing conditions; overhanging branches, the distant mountains, the falling rocks, the wide open sky and the uncanny flat ground.

The aim of the project is to enhance such conditions rather than superimposing an object onto the space. In pursuing this it was found that the most suitable device would be quiet yet leading, subtle and familiar, fluctuating and ever changing. Something that was already there, but presented in an alternative condition.

A long, meandering object to sit within the vegetation, to guide peoples sight, their movements, and their thoughts without overtly directing or announcing. Whilst at the site, we were presented with a ready-made solution; the twisting and contorted forms already existing within tree trunks and branches.
